Robert de Warren is one of today's most experienced and successful dance personalities with an unusual international career that has taken him worldwide creating new works, restaging his popular ballets and collaborating with companies and personalities in many fields. He recently retired as the Artistic Director of the Sarasota Ballet of Florida, a post he held for thirteen years.  However his energy and passion for dance have since established successful international, dance programs:

Robert de Warren 

Robert de Warren started his career with The Royal Ballet at Covent Garden, London. where he worked with such luminaries as: RUDOLF NUREYEV, Dame Margot Fonteyn, Dame Alicia Markova, Sir Frederick Ashton, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, John Cranko, Roland Petit, Agnes deMille, Alvin Ailey, Paul Taylor, Fleming Flindt and many more. He has also been approved by the Balanchine Trust to perform Mr. B's ballets in the companies he directs.

At the Royal Ballet he learned the entire CLASSICAL REPERTOIRE and danced in many works from international choreographers and was invited to choreograph new experimental works. As a principal dancer with the Stuttgart Ballet he created several roles for Beriozoff and John Cranko and Kenneth MacMillan and performed the leads I Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty. He was a star of the Frankfurt Ballet and the Ballet in Berlin.

 After directing Ballet under the Shah of Iran and founding the Persian National Folklore Society (which toured the world) he returned to England as director of Northern Ballet Theatre. Rudolf Nureyev agreed to perform in his company. So began a long artistic partnership and a friendship of almost 25 years. It was Nureyev who recommended Robert as Director of Ballet at La Scala, Milan, where he remained for seven years.

He has served as juror for major international dance competitions: Varna, Osaka, Naples, Rome, Milan, Mantova, Paris and Manchester - He is a member of the Honorary Committee of the Jackson USA Dance competition, has served on Board of Directors of the Florida Dance Association and as a judge for (YAGP) Youth America Grand Prix as a juror. Member of International dance Council CID at UNESCO, Paris
